Let's Talk About Louanne's Supplement Stack

In the stack I've linked above are three supplements that are non-negotiable in my life (I do take other products, but when the chips are down I will sacrifice all but these).

  • Green Synergy Elixir
  • Energy Fizz
  • Protein Powder

Let's Talk About Why I Swear By the Green Synergy Elixir

I have been using a greens drink since 2018 based on Arbonne's BeWell Greens and other supplements such as Gut Health, Mind Health, Skin Elixir and Fizz. The green's base that didn't change was Greens and Skin Elixir - sometimes I would leave out the Gut Health if I was taking a different probiotic supplements or I would take the Gut Health on it's own before mixing my greens. I would add Mind Health when I was feeling overwhelmed or if I knew I had to work on a project that required a lot of concentration - it's not a supplement I need all the time.

I really noticed that the greens seemed to help, I have tried not taking them for a while (I've even tried a few other brands, but haven't found them to be as good) and what I have noticed is that I feel more tired if I don't have them for longer than a couple of days. Let's face it everyone can use more greens so they stay in my must have column.

When the Skin Elixir first came out I wasn't going to bother trying it, it is promoted to be for your hair, skin and nails and that is what Arbonne have tested it for. Arbonne is a vegan company so they can't offer a collagen product because collagen is animal based. What they have done with the Skin Elixir is offer a collagen builder aka the ingredients you need for your body to produce it's own collagen.

Now I have RA and there was a lot of talk in some of the groups I was in that collagen was helpful so I thought well, why not try a collagen builder? In my mind (and please note I am not a nutritionist, doctor or scientist, I'm just a regular person who has managed her RA without medication for over two decades) I thought well it can't hurt, let's try it out.

I have personally found that it definitely helps my joints and I really notice it if I miss taking it for more than a couple of days.

What does this have to do with Green Synergy Elixir? We had a lot of people taking what we called the Green Gut Glow bundle (GGG) which contained the Greens, Gut Health and Skin Elixir and Arbonne decided to make a 3 in 1 supplement to make it easier for people - the Green Synergy Elixir.

Now I'll be honest I was worried that as it wasn't quite as potent as taking the GGG it might not work as well, but it has been fantastic and with just one sachet and a delicious citrus flavour it is and will remain a non negotiable MUST HAVE SUPPLEMENT for me.

Let's Talk About Energy Fizz

I first tried energy fizz back in December 2017, I put one of the sticks into 250ml of water took a mouthful and felt sick - no, not going to take this. It was part of a 30 Days to Healthy Living program that I was starting on 1st Jan 2018 and I asked my consultant - do I really need to drink this?

It was suggested that I take it with more water - I think she was meaning something like 500 - 600ml, I popped it in a litre of water and then I didn't mind it - LOL! The problem was I didn't drink many flavoured drinks, sodas or any energy drinks - I usually just drank water.

I did find that if I had one around 2pm in the afternoon it would keep my blood sugar levels balanced during the afternoon (it contains chromium) and I didn't crave chocolate or something sweet at 3 which was amazing. As I decided to reduce my coffee intake to 1-2 a week and I was getting used to (and enjoying) the different flavours of fizz I find I don't want to go a day without it.

Fizz is where I get my B Vitamins which are a supplement I used to take as a tablet. I'd much rather have it in a drink form, plus it keeps me hydrated, gives me energy and I tell people it keeps the smile on my face. I have tried a number of supplements that 'should' offer similar results, but they all have the same after-taste that I really don't like so Fizz remains a daily MUST HAVE SUPPLEMENT for me! Sometimes I take it in a litre of water, but if I'm really tired and want a quick boost I will have it in 500 ml (or I take a double fizz in my litre bottle) - how times change :)

Let's Talk About Why I Love Arbonne's Protein Powder

I'm going to be honest, one of the things that I was worried about when I decided to try the 30 days to healthy living program back in 2018 was the protein powder. I hadn't found a protein powder that I liked in the past and the idea that I needed to take a couple of shakes a day was not something I was looking forward to, but I can still remember when I opened the bag of Vanilla Protein Powder and smelled it my taste buds salivated it smelt amazing. Still not convinced I tried it and loved it.

Arbonne have three permanent flavours of protein powder and often release limited edition flavours as well. There core flavours are (in order of my favourites): vanilla, coffee and chocolate.

I am in the later stages of menopause and I have been managing my symptoms very well (which I credit to Arbonne, but I might blog about that another time) and one of the things I know has helped is being more aware of how much protein I am eating. It is so much easier for me to add protein powder to my breakfast so that I can get a good start on my day. It makes me feel so much better.

I choose to have the Simply 1 version, but before that was available I had the Feel Fit and I like the flavour of both. I like the taste, it's not chalky and it doesn't leave me feeling bloated like whey protein powders do. I have tried a number of other products and none of them taste as nice to me as the Arbonne one is.

This is another MUST HAVE SUPPLEMENT for me to keep on top of my protein (I will sometimes skip the protein powder for a day or two if I'm going out to brunch or my hubby makes us breakfast, but week days it is non-negotiable).
